Glimmer is the next chapter in a journey that began with Folly in Redlynch.

After building a café that became known for its atmosphere, attention to detail and sense of community, we wanted to create something that reflected another lifelong passion: collecting objects with history, craftsmanship and character.

Founded by Byron Woodley, Glimmer is a carefully curated destination for watches, collectables and objects that tell a story. It brings together a passion for mechanical timepieces, design, history and the thrill of discovering pieces that deserve to be appreciated and preserved.

What began as a private fascination has evolved into something more deliberate: a place where craftsmanship, provenance and enduring design come together.

The Collector Behind It

Byron doesn’t collect casually.

When something captures his interest, it becomes a subject of deep study; movements, references, design evolution, historical significance and provenance.

Mechanical watches are no exception.

Over years of collecting, researching and restoring, Byron developed a particular eye. Not for hype, but for quality. Not for trends, but for pieces with lasting value and genuine stories behind them.

Glimmer exists to share that perspective.

Why Watches?

Mechanical watches are among the last everyday objects still built to outlive their owner.

They are portable architecture. Functional sculpture. Personal history worn on the wrist.

In an age of disposable consumption, a well-chosen watch becomes something different; an object that gains meaning with time rather than losing it.

Glimmer specialises in pre-owned mechanical watches, vintage timepieces and independent brands selected for their craftsmanship, heritage and enduring appeal.

Glimmer launches as an online store, allowing us to focus on what matters most: sourcing exceptional pieces, authenticating every item, researching the stories behind them and providing a personal buying experience.

From our Queensland base, we ship Australia-wide with transparency, care and attention to detail.

While we're beginning online, this is only the start.

We're currently working towards opening a physical Glimmer space in the Cairns CBD, a place where specialty coffee, watches and collectables come together under one roof. A space designed for collectors, enthusiasts and the simply curious to slow down, explore and discover something unexpected.
